When The Levees Broke- Notes
Period 4 Film
5-7-08
Notes:
When the Levees Broke
Act I
In Act One of when the Levees broke we were introduced to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The Government sent in aid, FEMA, but it wasn’t enough. So many people lost their lives in the storm. Phyliss Montana was a survivor of the storm and was separated from her family. She gave vivid detail of the storm.
Act II
In Act two we start to learn the Political aspect of the storm. The government officials pretty much escaped the storm but left their city to die. As sad as it was that really was the smartest decision. Everyone underestimated the intensity of the storm approachiong. When it hit it really hit hard.
Act III
Act three told us just how bad it got. People tried to wait out the storm but they were all surprised when the levees broke. Most citizens felt the government blew up the levees like they did years ago, but that wasn’t true. It was actually an accident. But how can a citizen trust a government that has failed it so many times.
Act IV
In Act four we saw the aftermath of the hurricane. The post traumatic distress of the citizens was horrific. As New Orleans tries to rebuild itself, the citizens try to remember the jazz life that built the “big easy”.

Jeremy Disck 4.0 Poem
Jeremy Disck 4.0
January 2008
I guess she wasn’t “the one” for me,
I guess we just weren’t meant to be.
I guess it wasn’t real,
I guess this is how im supposed to feel?
She wasn’t my world,
She was just another girl.
She wasn’t much, Just Another Star,
She was not worth the drive that was just too far!
What can I say she’s an ex lover?
What can I do, I can’t stop loving her?
What is the reason im not Stronger?
What can help me fly away like Icarus?
They say be like Keyshia Kole, and just Let It Go.
They don’t know The Evil That Men Do
They don’t know I raged like a Cyclone would,
They don’t know id Kiss, Kiss any girl I could.
You Can’t Tell Me Nothing about who I am
You think it so damn Easy to get me, but I say “damn
You don’t know who I am”.
You cant figure me out although its written from Wall to Wall.
My music gets it,
My music knows the Curses I deal wit’
My Cinderella will come one day, I know it
My girl has to have a Hand of Blood to prove it
Her love for me that is, wouldn’t want another Bullet for My Valentine!
I Am From Poem
I Am From
Jeremy Randle
I am from a dark lit corner,
Just on the line between Sylmar, Lake View Terrace, and Pacoima I reside.
I am from the place where the cars never stop,
I love it here, I’ve got hometown pride.
I am from the place of low self esteem,
You cant even get a smile.
I am from the place where gangs feud daily,
But through it all I am blessed to have escaped that thug style.
I am from the place of trouble everyday,
But my social life lives in the West.
I am from the beaches of
But I go to the school that is best.
I am from the school where diversity is accepted,
But originality is embraced.
I am from a mix of music and a buffet of sound,
Fights I’ve overcome, plenty I’ve faced.
I am from the place where girls either rock or can kick your ass,
My life is so mixed up.
I am from love once known
But I screwed it up.
I am from Rock, R&B, and Rap,
Korn, Aaliah, and Snoop Dogg are all the same to me.
I am from music united as one to bring joy
Music is the definition of me.
I am my i-pod, it is my life story
I am music, the one that gets me!
